How You Can Help

OUR MISSION -To provide affordable merchandise to those families in need and to support parish conferences who provide food and other services for the poor.

The Society of St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store celebrated its grand opening on January 19, 1987 at 276 Queener Avenue, Port Richey. It moved to its current location in 1990. The store has over 6,000 square feet of showroom space for low-cost clothing, furniture, appliances, books and household items of all kinds. All the merchandise is donated.

Each day during normal business hours, the Thrift Store accepts donations of gently-used clothing and other items. We have free pick-up for larger items and we will accept the entire contents of a residence by appointment. Just call the store at the above listed number. A tax receipt will be provided.

The Thrift Store provides an opportunity for customers to shop economically. People who enjoy bargain shopping will discover unique items on any given day.

All who come to our store are treated with dignity and respect. We hope they leave as friends to shop with us again. Those who cannot afford the clothing, furniture and other household items they need will be provided for through a Vincentian Conference initiated referral system. Proceeds from the Thrift Store help to provide this assistance.

In order to continue our work of helping poor people, volunteers are urgently needed in the following areas:

  • Sorting, tagging and hanging clothing donations
  • Sorting, pricing and displaying house wares
  • Assisting customers with Thrift Store purchases
  • Repairing donated items when possible (lamps, etc.)
  • Helping the truck driver with pick-ups and deliveries

Whether you volunteer for a few hours one day a week or more, your help is greatly appreciated.

Serving Christ's needy is the first purpose of the St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store. To continue in this ministry, we use sound business practices. Surplus funds are used to support parish conferences.

Our St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store is a wonderful team effort of our parish conferences and volunteers meeting the needs of poor and needy people in Pasco County.
