The Society of St Vincent de Paul, District Council of Pasco, Inc., 7944 Grand Boulevard, Port Richey, Florida, was established on February 25, 1986. The Council oversees 8 conferences in Pasco County and keeps them united in spirit and in communication with each other.
The first conference, Our Lady of the Rosary in Land O'Lakes, was founded on January 2, 1982. Our eighth conference, St. Rita in Dade City was established in February 2012.
The work of the conference is based on direct one-to-one interaction with people in need, no matter what their origin or belief. Our primary goal remains to feed the hungry and to provide whatever assistance is available to us to help others.
The conferences, the basic units of the organization, meet at least twice monthly to discuss the business of helping the poor in their own parish area.
Each conference elects its president who then becomes a member of the District Board of Directors which meets nine times a year to share their experiences in serving clients. The Council provides for the spiritual and Vincentian formation and the promotion of friendship among members. Attentive to the needs of the poor, the Council strives to intensify and diversify the services offered.
The Council has strong working relationships with the Church, the wider Vincentian family, and local agencies serving the poor.
